In mid-September, the Art residence "Reserved Autumn in Altai" will be held in the Katunsky Reserve for the first time.

The event, which is held with the support of the Elena and Gennady Timchenko Charitable Foundation, will be attended by 8 artists from Novosibirsk, Gorno-Altaysk and Ust-Koksinsky district.

The program of the Art residency includes master classes and creative meetings with local children who are engaged in drawing, visits to the Multin lakes, museums, a meeting with the famous Ust-Koksin musician Alexey Chichakov (Altai throat singing). Within the framework of the residency, artists working in different genres have united, and this will allow holding a variety of master classes for children: from drawing animals in different techniques to ornamental graphics, intuitive drawing, creating design panels and even animation.

"The purpose of the Art Residency is twofold – says Tatiana Yashina, Deputy Director of the Katun Reserve, Head of the Altai-Sayan Mining Partnership. – First of all, we want to test such a model of travel to the reserve, when it is not just a trip to nature, but a journey with meaning. This completely fits into the concept of "slow" tourism promoted by us – slow, conscious travel with immersion in the cultural context of the territory and obtaining new meanings. And secondly, we are now finishing the construction of a new visitor center, and the works of the participants of the Art Residence will be used in its design and organization of exhibitions. So for the reserve, the result should be quite tangible." Registration for the master classes of the Art Residence will open on September 5.
