An orchestra from Thailand will perform music written by the late king at the Spasskaya Tower.


The orchestra from Thailand will take part in the anniversary International Military Music Festival "Spasskaya Tower". He will perform the music of the late king, the festival's directorate told TASS on Monday.

"The music of the King of Thailand will be played on Red Square. The marching band of the Bunwattan School from Thailand will take part in the International Military Music Festival "Spasskaya Tower" for the first time, the organizers noted.

As specified in the directorate, the orchestra has prepared a performance called "Joy with us" with elements of national color. It will begin with the composition "When", which was written by the King of Thailand Bhumibol Adulyadej, who died in 2016. The band will also play the melody "Wind of Change" (Randall Standridge), the composition "Briefly speaking" (Richard Saucedo) and "Canon in D Major" (Johann Pachelbel).

The Bunwatthana School Marching Band was founded in 1991 to support talented students. The team has repeatedly become the winner and laureate of various international competitions. So, he twice won the Royal Thai Marching Band Competition (2012 and 2021). Last year, the orchestra won in the nominations "indoors" and "parade ground concert". This year, the band was recognized as the best in the Nahun Chhai Burin Region Marching Band Competition.

The Spasskaya Tower Festival will be held this year from August 26 to September 4 on Red Square in Moscow. TASS is the official information partner of the festival.
