The Days of Russian Cinema in Jordan are held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and in collaboration with the Russian Film Festival, organized by Roskino and the Royal Film Commission of Jordan.

"More than half a century of diplomatic relations between Russia and Jordan allow us to strengthen our cultural interaction and implement new promising projects today. Holding the Days of Russian Cinema in Jordan is intended to be an important step on this path. I am sure that modern Russian films will be highly appreciated by Jordanian viewers," the press service quoted the words of the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova.

Inna Shalyto, General Director of Roskino, called one of the tasks of holding the Russian Film Festival in new markets — the formation of a base for the beginning of an industrial dialogue between Russian and international cinematographers. "In 2021, we held film weeks in Israel, now a special Russian Film Days event is starting in Jordan, and we are also working on options for holding the Russian Film Festival in the UAE and Bahrain. For us, cinema weeks are an important tool for studying the market and audience preferences," she said. According to Shalyto, representatives of the Middle East countries were actively interested in Russian projects in the film markets.

In 2020-2021, the festival was held in 23 countries and gathered more than 1 million viewers, its format includes both online screenings and offline events. The press service added that the Middle East and North Africa today are among the key regions for the promotion of Russian films, TV series and animation.
