Culture Minister Olga Lyubimova said that this year Russian cinema weeks are planned in Belarus, Jordan, Turkmenistan, Armenia and Uzbekistan.


More than 20 countries will take part in the Russian Film Festival project in 2022, screenings of Russian films are planned in Belarus, Jordan, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Uzbekistan. This was announced on Friday by the Minister of Culture of the Russian FederationOlga Lyubimova in her Telegram channel.

"Over 20 countries will take part in the Russian Film Festival project in 2022. At a meeting with the CEO of RoskinoInna Shalyto discussed the project program and its interim results. The Russian Film Festival is aimed at introducing foreign viewers to the products of Russian cinematographers and is one of the important points of cultural contact between different countries," she wrote.

The Minister said that this year Russian cinema weeks have started in Kyrgyzstan, and screenings of Russian films in Belarus, Jordan and other countries are also planned. "This year, the Russian Cinema Week started in Kyrgyzstan, where free screenings of films and animations were held from May 13 to 15. The screenings were also held in Brazil, Azerbaijan, and recently they started in Kazakhstan. In addition, screenings of Russian films are planned in Belarus, Jordan, Turkmenistan, Armenia, and Uzbekistan. Options for holding film weeks in Mexico, India, Bahrain, the UAE and other countries are being worked out," she added.

Olga Lyubimova noted that this year's festival program is based on family films, melodramas, comedies, sports dramas, animation and documentaries.

Russian Film Festival is a project organized by Roskino with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. The first festival was held in 2020 in an online format. In 2021, the event was held for the first time in person in Kyrgyzstan.
