The Singapore authorities have opened free entry to vaccinated tourists from a number of European countries, Canada and the United States, canceling the mandatory quarantine after arrival. This was announced at a press conference on Saturday by Minister of Transport S. Iswaran.

“After the vaccination of almost 85% of Singaporeans and the successful launch of the so-called corridor for vaccinated travelers from Brunei and Germany, the government decided to expand the list of countries with which the travel mechanism will be facilitated,” the head of the department said. "From October 19, residents of the UK, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Canada, the Netherlands, the United States and France, vaccinated with vaccines approved by the World Health Organization, will be able to enter the country without being in quarantine," he said.

Authorities reduced the number of PCR tests required to enter Singapore from four to two. "From October 19, it will be necessary to do tests 48 hours before crossing the border and immediately after arriving in the republic," the minister said, adding that "another condition should be continuous stay for the last 14 days on the territory of these countries."

"This regime does not apply to children who have not received a vaccine, and persons who, for medical reasons, cannot be vaccinated," the Ministry of Transport specified.

The head of the department also announced that a corridor for vaccinated travelers is opening between Singapore and South Korea on 15 November. So far, only residents of mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan are allowed to enter the republic without mandatory quarantine and without vaccination.
