The South Korean company GL Rapha, which leads the consortium in the Republic for the production of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V, expects this month to receive approval for the export of the Sputnik Light drug. This was stated by Chairman of the Board of Directors Wang Zhe Gang in an interview with Reuters, published on Tuesday.

"Everything is quite ready, and we continue to produce the vaccine while we wait for Russia to check our production process," he said. According to Wang Zhe Gang, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) informed the company that the evaluation and approval of the manufacturing process of the drug is expected this month, in connection with which a joint event is being prepared to celebrate the launch of production and the start of the first deliveries . Reuters notes that RDIF did not comment on this information.

To date, the company has manufactured at least 10 million doses of Sputnik Light, all of which are awaiting shipment, Reuters clarifies.

Wang Zhe Gang also said that GL Rapha and RDIF, which previously agreed to produce 650 million doses of the Sputnik V vaccine per year, have revised this figure, now it is planned to produce much more. He did not give an exact figure.

On April 15, RDIF announced that it had signed a technology transfer agreement with a consortium led by GL Rapha. A subsidiary of GL Rapha began production of Sputnik V in May.
