Mobile laboratory for coronavirus detection delivered to Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan has received a mobile laboratory for conducting PCR tests for coronavirus, the press service of the Ministry of Health reported.

The laboratory was transferred within the framework of the project “Technical and organizational support by the German government to the healthcare system of Uzbekistan” with the support of the German Society for International Cooperation and OPASCA.

The capacity of the equipment is 1500 tests per day, while it can operate without electricity for up to 6 hours . In addition, the space is fully adapted for the work of the driver and three medical workers and has the necessary conditions for rest, eating, bathing and other needs.

Head of the Service for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health Bakhodir Yusupaliev stated that today about 200 PCR laboratories operate in different regions of Uzbekistan, but there are “certain problems” with full coverage of the population of remote areas.

“Therefore, the mobile PCR laboratory presented today will allow you to travel to any point countries and test for coronavirus. Another important aspect is that with the help of these modern techniques, PCR test results can be obtained in 1 hour,” he said.

The new mobile laboratory is expected to start operating in remote and densely populated areas of the Samarkand region .
