Japanese authorities will accelerate the vaccination of foreigners in the country

The Japan Immigration Authority will help expedite the coronavirus vaccination of foreign nationals living in the country who cannot register for vaccination.

Beginning in mid-October, the Tokyo-based Foreign Resident Support Center will assist foreigners in making appointments for injections at medical facilities in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya. The center offers its services in 18 languages.

Experts point out that the slow pace of vaccination of foreigners is due to the lack of a vaccination voucher issued by the local authorities, as well as the fact that many foreign citizens cannot register for vaccination due to the language barrier.

Immigration officials hope that the measures taken will speed up the delayed vaccination of foreigners, as well as support municipalities that are experiencing difficulties.
