The Ministry of Health of Japan announced that it will allow doctors to treat patients in home isolation with a cocktail of drugs containing antibodies.

On Friday, the ministry decided to extend such treatment to patients across the country. According to the NHK, this method was first approved for patients with mild symptoms.

Patients will receive two intravenous drugs to suppress the virus at once. At the same time, doctors will be required to monitor their condition during the day after the administration of the drugs, the authorities stressed.

Initially, such treatment was carried out only among hospitalized patients. In August, the ministry authorized the use of a cocktail of antibody drugs for outpatients and for those isolated in hotels or temporary medical facilities.
