Japan donated 300,000 doses of coronavirus vaccine to Thailand for free. This is the second time the Japanese authorities have provided such assistance to the southeastern state.

On Thursday, a shipment of AstraZeneca's vaccine arrived in Thailand to fight the new delta strain of COVID-19. Recently, 15,000 to 20,000 new infections have been reported daily in the kingdom.

However, NHK notes that only 15% of the Thai population is fully vaccinated, as the authorities face various difficulties in obtaining enough doses vaccines.

Japan donated more than 1 million doses of AstraZeneca to Thailand in July.
