The Japanese Ministry of Health has approved Pfizer's anti-covid booster vaccine. On Thursday, a decision was made to administer the third phase of vaccination for those who have already received two doses of the vaccine at least eight months ago.

Pfizer's drug was the first to be approved by Japanese authorities for a third shot. The Ministry also intends to use the Moderna vaccine to boost people at factories and universities.

Booster vaccinations will begin around March at these facilities. At the same time, it is planned to re-vaccinate medical workers in December, the elderly - starting from January.

According to NHK, the booster vaccination will only be available to the population over 18 years of age, as there is still not enough information about the effectiveness and safety of the vaccine for those under that age. However, the Japanese Ministry of Health may lower the age limit when Pfizer provides more data on this issue.
