Another batch of the Russian coronavirus vaccine Sputnik V was delivered to Tehran on Thursday. Mehr Agency reports this with reference to customs data.

The batch includes 700 thousand doses of the drug. It is noted that the current delivery is part of an agreement with the Russian side, under which 2 million doses of the Sputnik V vaccine should be delivered to the country by the end of next week.

Russia ranks second after China among countries exporting vaccines from coronavirus to Iran.

Free voluntary vaccination of the population against coronavirus using the Russian drug Sputnik V began in Iran on February 9. In addition, drugs from the Chinese company Sinopharm, the Indian Bharat Biotech, the British-Swedish AstraZeneca, and the Iranian-developed vaccine COV Iran Barakat are used. According to official statistics, 27,604,934 people have been vaccinated in Iran so far.
