China will continue to cooperate with the UAE on the production of a vaccine against COVID-19 and the fight against coronavirus. This was stated by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

China will continue to make every effort to meet the UAE's need for a vaccine, keep the joint project's production line running smoothly, and assist the UAE and other countries in the region in the fight against COVID-19, the Chinese Foreign Minister said.

Wang Yi also congratulated his Arab counterpart on the UAE becoming a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council from 2022 to 2023.

The parties agreed to continue cooperation in the field of security, economy and protection of international equality and justice.

In March of this year, China and the UAE launched a joint UAE vaccine production project called Life Sciences and Vaccine Manufacturing in the UAE. One line for the production of the vaccine is already operating at a pharmaceutical plant located in the emirate of Ras al-Hama. This line has an initial capacity of 2 million doses per month. In addition, it is planned to build a plant that will have three bottling lines and five automated packaging lines.
