A quick recovery of the tourism industry in Moscow is possible with the removal of all epidemiological restrictions.

“The tourism industry is one of the industries most affected by the pandemic, recovery is slower, but Moscow has every chance to recover fairly quickly, provided that epidemiological restrictions are fully lifted. This is facilitated by our readiness to ensure epidemiological safety for all visiting tourists,” said the Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the Moscow Department of Economic Policy and Development Kirill Purtov.

The head of the department believes that the current support measures will help the tourism industry recover quickly. “We hope that the existing tools - the tourist cashback program, support measures - will allow the industry to recover quite quickly. Much now depends on the epidemiological situation, on the opening of air traffic between countries. Of course, the situation is slowly improving,” he explained.

Kirill Purtov expressed the hope that the tourist flow to the capital in 2021 will be higher than in 2020 year. “Now we see that there are additional flights from neighboring countries. Therefore, we hope that measures aimed at improving the epidemiological situation in the world as a whole and vaccination will help us recover, and 2021 will be much better for the city's tourism industry than 2020," he concluded.
