To support the vaccination campaign in the Philippines, China on Sunday delivered an additional batch of the novel coronavirus vaccine. The vaccine is produced by Sinovac Biotech.

Carlito Galvez, responsible for vaccine procurement, thanked China and Sinovac Biotech for delivering the shipment. So far, the Philippines has received more than 62 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines from various manufacturers, he said, but China is still the largest supplier.

China has been providing paid COVID-19 vaccines to the Philippines since February 28. The PRC was the first country to send the necessary drugs to a friendly country, allowing the Philippines to begin vaccinations on March 1.

More than 40.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have already been administered to Filipinos. Nearly 18 million people are fully immunized. Overall, the government intends to vaccinate up to 70 million people this year.
