More than 6.6 thousand people arrived in Thailand on the first day after its opening for fully vaccinated travelers from 61 countries and two territories.

As the Bangkok Post reported on Tuesday, 3,000 passengers arrived at the capital's Suwannaphum airport and 3,613 at other international airports in the kingdom.

It is noted that most of the aircraft arrived from Europe. The number of 3 thousand travelers included 2.3 thousand foreigners, the rest were local subjects. A plane from Tokyo with 11 foreigners and 32 Thais on board became the first aircraft to land in Thailand since the new rules came into force.

From November 1, fully vaccinated travelers from 61 countries and two territories can fly to Thailand without going through quarantine. The list of areas of the kingdom accessible to visit has also expanded to 17 provinces, including the cities of Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket. Russians vaccinated with Sputnik V, as well as travelers from countries not included in this list, can also visit these tourist points without isolation, but with a mandatory stay in hotels located there for seven nights.

In Thailand , with a population of 69.6 million, the first case of coronavirus infection was detected on January 13, 2020. On Tuesday, the Ministry of Health informed about 7.5 thousand infected and 78 dead per day.
