Vladimir Putin will visit the Far East in September to participate in the WEF

The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that Russia expects foreign high-ranking guests to participate in the forum.


President of Russia Vladimir Putin will take part in the Eastern Economic Forum (WEF) in September. This was announced to journalists on Thursday by the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov.

"Both October and November will be quite busy for us. September, of course, the president will fly to the Far East," he said. Dmitry Peskov clarified that in the Far EastVladimir Putin plans to take part in the WEF. "Yes," he said, answering a clarifying question.

Peskov said that Russia is expecting foreign high-ranking guests to participate in the forum, their list is being worked out.

"We are waiting for guests, there will be guests," Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday, noting that the forum plays a great role. "In the near future, when the whole composition will be clear, we will also make a message," he added.

WEF is one of the largest Russian international conferences. It has been held since 2015 on Russian Island (Vladivostok, Primorsky Krai) at the site of the Far Eastern Federal University. This year the forum will be held from September 5 to 8. According to the latest data from the Roscongress press service, representatives of 40 countries have already confirmed their participation in the forum.
