According to the developers, the design is compact and fits into any curvature of the well.

Tyumen has developed a new generation pump with increased energy efficiency for use in mature oil fields, Yuri Bogachuk, head of the INTES engineering company, told TASS on Tuesday.

"The submersible pumps developed by engineers of a completely new type, a new generation, have shown energy efficiency 30% higher than imported and domestic analogues, are tens of times lighter and can be used on wells of any type. The equipment is completely import-independent, allows you to increase production even at the so-called old fields that are in the last stages of development. The work on the project took 12 years," Yuri Bogachuk said.

The head of the company noted that the rod pump is considered the most efficient in the industry, since it consumes less energy, but it is a bulky structure weighing 52 tons, plus 40 m in length. The pump of Tyumen engineers is short, fits into any curvature of the well, is rodless, the pump and the engine in it are one.

Oil and gas companies in Russia and Serbia are interested in the technology. Contractors were found in the Tyumen, Volgograd, Samara, Novosibirsk, Tomsk regions, in the Stavropol Territory. Pilot tests are scheduled to take place in August.

In the future, INTES plans to manufacture high-temperature electronics for the pump that can withstand operating temperatures of at least 225 degrees Celsius.
