The third China International Consumer Goods Exhibition will be held on April 10-15

The third China International Consumer Goods Exhibition (CICPE) will be held in Haikou (southern Hainan Province) on April 10-15. This was reported on Thursday by Xinhua news agency with reference to the CICPE organizing committee.

The total area of the exposition this year will be about 100 thousand square meters. m. Of which 80 thousand are allocated for imported products.

Italy will be the guest of honor of CICPE. Countries such as France, Germany, the USA, Japan, the Republic of Korea and participants of a Comprehensive regional economic Partnership will present their goods and services at the exhibition. According to the organizers, many foreign brands will appear in various sections of the exhibition for the first time.

The first China International Consumer Goods Exhibition was held in Haikou on May 7-10, 2021. It was attended by representatives of 70 countries and regions, over 2.6 thousand premium brands and more than 1.5 thousand companies. The event attracted about 240 thousand visitors. By its scale, it was the largest exhibition of consumer goods in the Asia-Pacific region.

The proposal to organize the exhibition was included in the program published on June 1, 2020 for the construction of a free trade port on Hainan. On September 20 of the same year, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council of the People's Republic of China officially approved its holding. The organizers are the Ministry of Commerce of the Republic and the Government of Hainan. This is the first international exhibition dedicated to consumer goods in China.

The Chinese authorities attach great importance to the CICPE and position it as an important part of the efforts aimed at building a free trade port on Hainan. The implementation program of this project provides for the transformation of the island into a special customs zone.
