Trade turnover between Russia and Tajikistan increased by 18.3% in 2022

The trade turnover between Russia and Tajikistan in 2022 increased by 18.3% compared to a year earlier, amounting to $ 1.4 billion.
This was announced today by Vladimir Padalko, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, following the results of the "exchange of contacts" of small and medium-sized enterprises of the two countries held in Dushanbe.
"By the end of 2022, according to the Federal Customs Service of Russia, bilateral trade increased by 18.3% compared to 2021 and amounted to $ 1.4 billion. The volume of exports amounted to $ 1.3 billion with an increase of 19.7%, imports - $ 103.3 million with an increase of 3.7%," he said, adding that a significant share of Russian exports - about 23% - are non-primary non-energy exports.
At the same time, cooperation should not be limited exclusively to trade, Vladimir Padalko stressed. "We need to look for opportunities to implement joint cooperation projects. Good opportunities for cooperation are opening up in such areas as metallurgy, construction, agriculture, light industry, the mining sector, digitalization and information technology," said the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.
Promising niches for interaction exist in the field of investment cooperation and industrial cooperation, including within the framework of free economic zones, he added.
