The trade turnover of Primorye and China in 2022 increased by 43%

In Primorye, trade with China increased by 43% last year to $7.5 billion. This was announced to journalists on Thursday by the head of the Agency for International Cooperation of Primorsky Krai Alexey Starichkov.

"In a conversation today with Mr. Wang Lei [the mayor of Suifenhe], they mentioned the need to increase the volume of goods from Primorsky Krai, from the Russian Federation to China. Let's not hide the fact that the growth of Primorsky Krai's trade with China is rapidly increasing. According to preliminary estimates, it reached almost $7.5 billion last year. And this is an increase of 43% compared to the previous year," Alexey said Oldies.

He added that the trade balance in favor of Chinese partners reaches the indicator of 1:3. "And this means that we have to increase the number of our supplies to China. We are ready to send wood chips, veneer, products of the fishing industry, agricultural products - milk, pork, soy, and other goods. <...> We also discussed the possibility of resuming railway passenger traffic," the head of the international cooperation agency said.

Many Chinese businessmen are implementing investment projects in Primorsky Krai, including within the framework of the regimes of the Free Port of Vladivostok and territories of advanced development. The region has been working with Chinese colleagues in the fields of trade, tourism, agriculture and fisheries, education, and research for more than 20 years. In particular, in December, the Governor of the region Oleg Kozhemyako and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company "Legendagro" Ren Jianchao signed an agreement of intent in the implementation of an investment project for the construction of a Russian-Chinese agropark in the Primorsky Territory. The agreement implies the volume of capital investments of more than 5 billion rubles, the creation of at least 400 new jobs.
