Russian ships with coal began to arrive in China after the opening of navigation along the Amur.


The first Russian river cargo ships began to arrive in China after the opening of navigation along the Amur. The Russian consulate general in Harbin, the capital of China's northeastern province of Heilongjiang, said on Monday that they had delivered coal from Khabarovsk.

“The first riverboats from Russia are arriving in China. Navigation this year was opened by barge-tow trains with coal from Khabarovsk, their unloading will begin in the near future in the western port of Tongjiang,” the message says.

According to the Consulate General, another Chinese river port on the Amur in the border city of Fuyuan (located 65 km from Khabarovsk).

According to the report, in 2021, 3.3 million tons of various cargoes were transported through river checkpoints on the border between Russia and China.
