The authorities of Yakutia are planning to sign a four-party agreement at an investment forum in Sochi on the creation of a new regional airline. This was reported to TASS on February 12 by the government of the region.

"At the forum in Sochi, it is planned to sign an agreement between Yakutia, Buryatia, the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation on the creation of a new regional airline with an extensive route network in the Far Eastern and Siberian Federal Districts. It is supposed that the Russian Helicopters holding company will supply the fleet for the new airline, the government noted, adding that the company will be created on the basis of one of the regional air carriers.

It is about the supply of TVS-2DTS aircraft, the production of which is planned to be organized based on the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant since 2019 (part of the Russian Helicopters holding), the government specified. regional airline by the need to improve the transport accessibility of sparsely populated areas of the Far North and the Far East, the development of intra- and interregional regional connections.

"First of all, we are talking about updating the fleet of aircraft for regional and local transportation. The average age of the operated fleet (in the region - TASS note) is 37 years for the An-24, 32 years for the Mi-8 helicopters and more than 30 years for the An-2," the government explained.

According to the data developers, the developed light multi-purpose aircraft TVS-2DTS will compare favorably with the closest analogues presented on the small aircraft market (Cessna, Pilatus, Gzhel, AN-3).In particular, the aircraft, according to the developers, will have an acceptable cost per flight hour, increased flight range and duration, as well as adapted for operation in the northern regions.
