Siberia will be divided into industry clusters

The formation of 8 clusters is included in the development strategy of Siberia until 2035.
The cluster approach will ensure the sustainable economic development of the Siberian Federal District until 2035 in the fields of aluminum processing, timber processing, precious metals, gas, oil and coal mining, as well as tourism and agriculture. This is stated in the strategy of socio-economic development of the district until 2035 published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
"A cluster approach is assumed for the key enterprises of the district. Industrial clusters "Forest, timber processing and forestry", "Aluminum processing", "Precious metals", "Non-ferrous and rare earth metals", "Tourism", "Agriculture and food industry", "Oil and gas", "Coal" are supposed to group enterprises united by a common production chain on the basis of one or more other source of natural resources on the territory of the district.
The clusters will reach their design capacity starting from 2026, and their full deployment is expected in the period 2030-2035," the report says.
The document states that in most cases, a close geographical location of enterprises is assumed, but in some cases it may also be a disparate location of clusters.
In addition, by 2030, taking into account the implementation of investment projects in Siberia, more than 500 thousand new jobs will be created, taking into account related industries, and more than 16 trillion rubles of investments will be attracted.
The cluster "Forest, timber processing and forest chemistry" is focused on the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Kemerovo region — Kuzbass, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Tomsk and Omsk regions, where the timber industry plays a significant role and the production of wood products for the last 5 years is 30 million cubic meters annually. In order to develop the cluster, it is planned to build and modernize the transport infrastructure, as well as ensure the complete processing of forest resources. The enterprises of the Aluminum Processing cluster are supposed to produce products of exceptionally high processing, that is, obtained on the basis of several stages of processing of the initial mineral raw materials. Promising areas in the field of processing and environmental modernization of existing aluminum plants will be implemented. Within the framework of the Precious Metals cluster, it is planned to build mining and processing plants, as well as increase the production and processing capacities of existing deposits.
In addition, tourist territories that are part of the Siberian Federal District will be actively developed. As part of the development of the Agriculture and Food Industry cluster, it is planned to build livestock farms and greenhouses, develop grain processing plants, and create food production enterprises.
