“In the foreign tourist flow to Antalya in January 2022, tourists from Russia took the first place with a share of 36.7%: 43,219 people. Compared to January 2021 (then 36,352 Russians came here), the flow of tourists from the Russian Federation to the resorts of Antalya increased by 18.9%. It also turned out to be 17.1% more than in January 2019 (then 36.9 thousand Russians arrived in Antalya),” the report says.

In January 2020, 57 thousand Russians visited Antalya tourists, the association noted.

In January 2022, 117.8 thousand foreigners and 20.9 thousand Turkish citizens permanently residing abroad visited this province. The share of Russians who visited Antalya in January 2022 has more than halved compared to the same period in 2021 - then it was 77.3%.

ATOR warned of a significant increase in the cost of living in Antalya hotels in January of the current year. According to the research company Turizmdatabank, the average price per night in hotels in this resort province increased by 78% compared to December last year and by 137% in annual terms. According to the association, the rise in prices is due not so much to the depreciation of the Turkish lira against major currencies, but to a significant increase in prices for electricity, fuel and food.
