Rosgeologia and Turkmenistan to join forces for mineral exploration

Turkmenistan plans to actively engage in mineral exploration issues together with Rosgeologiya. This was told in an interview with the correspondent of TASS by the trade representative of the Russian Federation in Turkmenistan's Alexander Yelizarov following the results of the Russian-Turkmen business forum held in Ashgabat.

"The forum was attended by the head of Rosgeology Sergey Gorkov, who held meetings with the leadership of Turkmengeology, Turkmengaz, Turkmenneft, the Ministry of Construction and Architecture. The Turkmen side plans to actively engage in the exploration of minerals together with Rosgeology, such a task was announced by them at the meeting. We are currently working on the issue of preparing and signing a bilateral cooperation agreement. I believe that further work will be based on the organization of visits to Turkmenistan by Rosgeology specialists, who, together with representatives of the Turkmen side, will carry out the tasks set," he said.

As Gorkov reported at the forum, Rosgeologia offered Turkmenistan cooperation in the exploration of minerals (hydrocarbons and solids), the company's participation in the creation of the first underground gas storage facility in Turkmenistan, the study of soils for various projects, including infrastructure.
