The Hong Kong authorities have decided to ban public catering to deal with the spread of the coronavirus.

The government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China decided to introduce even stricter measures to combat the epidemic  COVID-19. So, in early July, due to the growing number of infected people, the city authorities forbade people to gather together in public places in a group of more than 2 people. Restaurants have also been ordered to operate only until 6 pm.

Due to the fact that at the end of July more than 140 new cases of coronavirus were detected in the metropolis, the municipality decided to close canteens and cafes of all categories. Thus, a population that is unable to cook their own food at home has been hit hard.

How do I cook where I live. A normal family has a kitchen and can cook. But we don't have that opportunity here. If this happens, the only thing I can do is buy dry noodles or any other freeze-dried food so that at least - then go through hard times".

Chu, like many other Hong Kong residents, lives in a modular building. Each cell in the three-tier rack is like a shelf on a train with shelves and hooks for storing personal items. Amenities and a TV are located in the passage to the living area.

Due to the high population density in this city, even in houses equipped with a kitchen, there is often not enough space to feed the whole family - the dimensions of this room are so small.
