India and the Russian Federation have done a lot of work on an independent payment system.

Russia and India has done a lot of work on building an independent payment system and expanding the use of national currencies in mutual settlements. This opinion was expressed on Thursday by the Russian Ambassador to New Delhi Denis Alipov during the conference "Strategic Partnership of India and Russia: new challenges and opportunities in a changing world order."

"On the bilateral track, we have done a lot of work on building an independent payment system, expanding the use of national currencies in mutual settlements, which ultimately ensured a record high trade turnover, exceeding 30 billion US dollars last year," the diplomat said, speaking in New Delhi.

As reported at the same conference by the Ambassador of India to Pavan Kapoor of Russia, despite the anti-Russian sanctions of the West, there has been a significant increase in bilateral trade. According to him, from April to December last year, this figure reached almost $ 35 billion.
