Kuwait provided a loan to Tajikistan for road repairs



loan of 7.5 million Kuwaiti dinars ($25.5 million) was provided by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
The project involves the reconstruction of dilapidated roads stretching over 32 km, as well as the construction of two weighing stations for trucks, Xinhua News Agency reports with reference to the Kuwait News Agency.
The fund expects that the development of the transport infrastructure of Tajikistan will allow accelerate the movement of goods and labor in the country, which will have a beneficial effect on the economic development of the southeastern regions of the republic.
Earlier, the fund allocated four loans to Tajikistan in the amount of 17.2 million dinars ($57 million) for various purposes in framework of overall economic development.

In 1974, it was decided to expand the activities of the fund to developing countries outside the Arab East.
