Israel allows business tourism

Business tourism is resurgent: Israel allowed entry for foreign businessmen.


Amid the ongoing fight against the coronavirus and its consequences, the Israeli Ministry of Economy will approve entry for foreign members of the business community.


Entry may be allowed as businessmen from “green” and from “red countries”, but when entering or visiting a “red country” within 14 days preceding the trip, a business traveler must provide a negative PCR test at the border, made 48 hours before departure.


When obtaining permission, businessmen from “green countries” will be able to stay in Israel for up to 7 days (168 hours), and from the “red countries” 4 days (96 hours). Both categories of citizens will not be required to isolate upon arrival, but they will need to adhere to a number of epidemiological rules.


“Israel is making great efforts to keep the economic and tourism sectors functioning at the proper level. The new measure is an important step towards the revival of business tourism,” commented Vladimir Shklyar, Director of the Department of the Ministry of Tourism of Israel in the Russian Federation and the CIS, Advisor to the Embassy of the State of Israel in the Russian Federation.


Entry will only be allowed to individuals whose contribution to Israeli companies and the economy is vital, and only in cases where a business meeting cannot be held virtually.


Entry Permit Process:


·   ;  A businessman from abroad must fill out an online form for foreign businessmen to apply for entry into Israel, after completing it, it must be sent to the email address of a contact person in an Israeli company;


·    Then - the CEO, Vice President or an authorized person on behalf of the host Israeli company must complete the application form and send it to the email address Tofes.Zarim .yarok@economy.gov.il, attaching a questionnaire, a businessman from abroad (the Questionnaire must be completed on a computer, not by hand).


·    The application must be submitted 15 or more working days before the planned date of arrival of the passenger in Israel.


·    The number of days for processing the application will be counted from the date of submission of all documents required for processing the application.

 


What happens after applying:


·   ;  A recommending body under the Israeli Ministry of Economy and Industry will consider the Israeli company's request.


·    If the recommendation is positive, it will be sent to the Israel Population and Immigration Authority for further consideration.


·    If a positive decision is made, the Ministry of Economy and Industry will issue a special certificate to the Israeli company.


·    If the recommendation is negative, the reasons will be sent to the Israeli company that submitted the request.


·    A company whose application was rejected may request a reconsideration of the request by providing new data.


·    A request for review may be submitted within 30 days of receiving notice of the denial of the request.


·     The request should be sent to the email address Tofes.Zarim.yarok@economy.gov.il.

 


Once approved


·    24 hours before departure, a foreign businessman must fill out an online declaration form for a passenger entering Israel.


·    When entering the State of Israel, the businessman must provide the approval of the Population and Immigration Authority received from the host company.
