“Now we are the only ones who have started sewing fur clothes in such volumes. Nowhere else in Chukotka there are similar productions,” said the owner of the enterprise, an individual entrepreneur Victoria Sitarova.

Funds for the factory were allocated by the “Kupol” fund for supporting the indigenous population of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (1.5 million rubles), the district department of finance, economics and property relations (500 thousand rubles) and the district administration of the village of Keperveem (150 thousand). br>
Containers for the workshop and part of the equipment were purchased. The factory produces the skins of deer, wolverines, arctic foxes, wolves and sables, as well as sewing clothes and shoes.

“We not only sew national clothes, but also repair and clean ordinary clothes. In the future, we plan to significantly expand production, purchase several more machines, including those for wet and dry dressing, as well as hire new specialists - a seamstress and a skinner. In this matter, we are counting on additional support from the Kupol Foundation,” Sitarova added.

The factory intends to sell national clothes throughout Chukotka. In particular, orders for torbasa (fur shoes) have already been received from some agricultural enterprises of the district. The national village of Keperveem is located 40 km from the city of Bilibino in the western part of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.
