Flights to the Far East may become cheaper

The President of Russia proposed measures to reduce airfare.

According to Vladimir Putin, air carriers that are ready to increase the availability of tickets should be given benefits. He said this at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum.

“A priority for all aviation companies world is safety and comfort. For carriers operating in the Far East, the availability of tickets should certainly be another priority,” Putin said.

He added that such a system is already working in practice, it needs to be fixed. “I understand that this is not a very marketable measure, for this region it is justified. But we need to think about how to consolidate this normatively,” the president added.

Putin also said that by 2024, 40 airports in the Far East region will be reconstructed. Factories in Ulan-Ude, Komsomolsk-on-Amur and Arsenyev will be attracted to upgrade the fleet of aircraft and helicopters.
