EDB ready to finance EAEU interstate programs



The Chairman of the Board of the EDB announced in Tashkent that the Bank was ready to finance EAEU interstate programs.
Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) Nikolay Podguzov, during his speech at the Council on Industrial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), which is taking place in Tashkent (Republic of Uzbekistan), announced the prospects for the Bank to finance interstate programs EAEU.
“Our countries are traditionally linked by thousands of production chains and common infrastructure, which form the framework of Eurasian economic integration. Preservation, development and expansion of this potential for cooperation is one of the key tasks of the Bank's activities. In this area of work, we are ready for close cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Commission and the EAEU Industrial Policy Council. A promising form of such interaction could be the financing of interstate programs and projects of the EAEU that correspond to the mission of the Bank,” said Nikolai Podguzov.
He also noted that, along with elements of debt support for EDB projects, the ability to provide services for the organization of all types of documentary operations - to issue letters of credit and bank guarantees. The EDB can act as a guaranteeing bank and act as a mediator in the interaction between counterparties from the EAEU member countries.

The EAEU Industrial Policy Council is a structure coordinating the activities of the authorities of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia in the industrial sector in the area of the association. The meeting of the Council is being held for the first time in Uzbekistan as in a country with observer status in the EAEU.
