EDB predicts recovery of economic activity this year

The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) predicts that if the quarantine imposed due to the coronavirus is eased, economic activity in its countries of operations will recover before the end of this year. 


This is stated in the information and analytical review of the EDB, published on Wednesday on the bank's website.

As the EDB explained, the risks to the forecast remain elevated, as the development of the epidemic situation remains uncertain, and the likelihood of increased geopolitical tensions is saved. “The latter could have a significant negative impact on the business climate in the region,” the document says.

The authorized capital of the EDB is $7 billion. Now the member countries of the bank are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
