China and Laos create a joint economic corridor

During the talks, the parties discussed issues of intensifying work within the framework of the China-Laos Economic Corridor project. In particular, they discussed the construction of the China-Laos railway and the Vientiane-Vang Vieng Expressway.

Fundamental solution on the creation of the Sino-Laos economic corridor was adopted in 2014 following the visit to Laos of the leader of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping. The main project was the concept of linking the Chinese initiative "One Belt, One Road" with the Lao development strategy.
