Iraq wants to trade with Russia to meet its needs in wheat and grain.

Baghdad expects, through trade with Moscow, to cover the needs of its market in grain and wheat, and to establish direct supplies of sunflower oil from Russia. This was stated on Thursday by the Ambassador of Iraq to RF Abdel Rahman Hamid al-Husseiniat the site of the All-Russian public organization "Business Russia".

The head of the Iraqi diplomatic mission in Russia expressed the hope that in cooperation with Russia it will be possible to "cover all the needs of the Iraqi market in regarding grain and wheat." “We very much welcome our cooperation on wheat   - said the ambassador.

“As for other grains like beans and lentils, we need these too much,” he continued. — Sunflower oil remains an important product for us. Iraq produces more than 28% of sunflower oil, but at the moment we need to get more than 70% of this product from abroad.”

The Ambassador recalled that earlier Iraq purchased sunflower oil through intermediaries, but now it is interested in direct supplies from the Russian Federation.
