The first automobile bridge between Russia and China, about a kilometer long, built across the border Amur River near the cities of Blagoveshchensk and Heihe, is ready for traffic, the press service of the Ministry for the Development of the Far East told TASS. was completed in December. 

“If it were not for the pandemic and the closed borders of states, the bridge would have started working after the issuance of a permit. And now we have to wait until all restrictions are lifted,” the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East explained.

Trucks and cars will move across the bridge from Blagoveshchensk, the only Russian regional center located directly on the state border. According to preliminary calculations, the annual flow of passengers will be about 3 million people, the traffic flow will be about 300 thousand cars, about 6 million tons of cargo will be transported. 

The length of the bridge itself is more than a kilometer, the total length of the crossing is 20 km , it includes 6 km of road in China and 13 km of access roads in Russia.

The total length of the bridge and access roads is 20 km: 13 km in Russia and 6 km in China. The cost of the facility amounted to 18.8 billion rubles. The object was created without attracting budgetary funds.
