Afghanistan is interested in trade cooperation with the Russian Federation.

Representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of AfghanistanYunus Momand said that the republic is interested in trade cooperation with Russia and is ready to sign an agreement with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

"Of course, we need food first of all. This applies to flour, wheat, and oil, but at the same time we need different fuel options for industrial production. We would like to conclude a serious contract, on the basis of which goods would be supplied constantly, and we are ready to supply to Russia dried fruits and vegetables in general and fresh fruits in general. <...> We have signed an agreement with [the Roscongress Foundation, which is also a great benefit for us. In the future, we are ready to sign an agreement with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia so that we can promote the goods I have already mentioned," he said on Thursday on the Rossiya-24 TV channel on the sidelines of the SPIEF.

Yunus Momand believes that Afghanistan is a convenient transit point. "Given that we have already provided complete security in almost the entire territory of Afghanistan, there may be good prospects here," he added.

The representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic pointed out that Afghanistan needs both global investments and investments from the Russian Federation. "Given that there are many problems related to construction in Afghanistan, of course, we need building materials and cement. And here, too, we could join forces to build a cement plant in Afghanistan with the help of Russia," he said.

Yunus Momand stressed that at the moment there are no concrete proposals in the field of construction, but representatives of the republic came to the SPIEF to start a dialogue.
