Public associations will be engaged in the development of Eurasian integration

The Eurasian Economic Commission and public associations will work together on the development of Eurasian integration within the framework of the EAEU strategy until 2025.


This is stated in document published on the Legal Portal of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Thus, in order to increase the efficiency of the activities and openness of the EEC, the strategy of the EAEU until 2025 provides for the provision of broad public access to information about the EAEU, as well as “wide involvement of citizens, public associations and business communities of the Member States in the functioning of the EAEU and their participation in determining further directions for the development of Eurasian integration.”

Recall, December 14 at the EEC headquarters in Moscow a working meeting was held with the leadership of the Assembly. At the meeting, “it was noted that possible cooperation could develop within the framework of the implementation of the provisions of the Strategic Directions for the Development of Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025.”

The adoption of the EAEU development strategy until 2025 has already been called a historic event. As noted by the EEC, the document will allow switching to specific implementation mechanisms integration and resolving many issues in a new way. “11 directions for the development of integration, 332 mechanisms, what to do and when. This is a huge job for the Commission, and we look forward to well-coordinated work with the governments of the EAEU member countries. Of course, it is necessary to take into account sovereign national interests, no one is going to dominate. This is the strength of our document and the strength of our integration,” Belteleradio reports the words of EEC Chairman Mikhail Myasnikovich.

The work will be aimed at deepening cooperation with international organizations and think tanks in the global economy, as well as obtaining observer status for the EAEU to the UN General Assembly without establishing a representative office.

In addition, the implementation of the strategy involves coordinated work on the issues of conjugation of integration processes in the Eurasian space in terms of economic cooperation within the framework of the idea of the Greater Eurasian Partnership. In particular, “positioning the EAEU as one of the centers for the formation of the integration contour of the Greater Eurasian Partnership by interfacing with the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), strengthening interaction with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN ), establishing a dialogue with the European Union (EU) and other multilateral associations and states of Asia and Europe.
