Project "Immortal Memory: Memorials and Monuments" presented in Bulgaria

During the celebration of the 77th anniversary of the liberation of Bulgaria from fascism, from September 8 to 11, 2021, round tables were held in Bulgaria, in Sofia and Varna, dedicated to the presentation of the international project "Immortal Memory: Memorials and Monuments".

In Bulgaria, the project "Immortal Memory: Memorials and Monuments" was represented by the Deputy Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, Yurijus Trakshelis. He also announced that he had begun preliminary work to prepare for the publication of the book “We won together” (an album of graves of Soviet and Bulgarian soldiers who fought on the side of the anti-Hitler coalition in European countries) in Russian, Bulgarian and English.


Round tables were held with the support of the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Bulgaria. Scientists-historians and public figures of Bulgaria took part in them. Professors Iskra Baeva and Rumiana Mikhneva, Doctor of Historical Sciences Nako Stefanov, Rear Admiral, Chairman of the Naval Sailors Club Piotr Stranchevsky and others discussed the content of the project "Immortal Memory: Memorials and Monuments" during round tables and gave their recommendations on its formation .


The events were also attended by Ambassador-Counselor of the Russian Embassy Philip Voskresensky, Counselor Alexei Novoselov and curator of the Public Diplomacy direction of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Bulgaria Konstantin Peev.


Iurijus Trakshelis talked to journalists, in particular, gave an interview to Radio Varna and Eurocom TV channel.
