In Yekaterinburg, at the International Art Center “Glavny Prospekt Gallery”, the doors were opened for those who wanted to touch the Armenian classics.

The “Armenian community “ANI-Armenia” made such a gift to the residents of the capital of the Urals by organizing the “Evening of Armenian Poetry”. “Every year, on the birthday of Hovhannes Tumanyan, Armenia celebrates the Book Giving Day. Armenians from all over the world brought such a good tradition to the Eurasian continent. And now everyone can get a book about Armenia or with the works of Armenian classics,” Masis Nazaryan, chairman of the NGO “ANI-Armenia”, opened the “Evening of Armenian Poetry”. “Our region, the Sverdlovsk region, is a recognized center of interethnic and intercultural dialogue, a region that provides equal opportunities for self-realization and preservation of their national identity to all 160 peoples living here,” said Marina Plyasunova, Head of the Representative Office of the International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations “Eurasia Peoples’ Assembly” in the Sverdlovsk region. Homeland, Mother and Language are inextricably linked concepts for the Armenian people! Of course, all this cannot exist without love. That is why the main themes of the evening were: Motherland, Mother and Language. Through the native word, threads are stretched from every child's heart to that great and eternal one, whose name is the people; to the secrets of his language, his culture, the glory of his many generations. It connects human souls, history with modernity, the life of ancestors with our life. Throughout the evening, poems by the classics of Armenian poetry were heard in the original, including Hovhannes Tumanyan, Hovhannes Shiraz, Silva Kaputikyan, Avetik Isahakyan, Paruyr Sevak, Hamo Sagiyan, Vahan Teryan and others, as well as translations of famous poets Valery Bryusov, Osip Mandelstam, Bella Akhmadulina , Anna Akhmatova, Mark Ryzhkov. Poetry united the younger generation with the older. After all, students and teaching staff of the Armenian Sunday Center, activists of the Armenian Youth Union, parents and even grandparents became readers. There is no doubt that any country has its admirers among foreigners - those who have kept the warmest memories, and those who have fallen in love with it forever. Armenia is no exception. Among the guests of the evening was the famous Ural artist Alexei Ryzhkov, who has repeatedly captured Armenia in his paintings. Being the son of the famous poet-translator Mark Ryzhkov, Alexei Markovich knows firsthand about Armenia, because the famous translator was in love with the country around Ararat, and his translations were a way of self-expression. Hovhannes Tumanyan deeply understood the truth that in art the national and the universal are closely intertwined, and that only when depicting life, the national character of the native people, one can express such thoughts and ideals that will be close and understandable to all peoples. On behalf of the Armenian youth, Lusine Ustyan, project coordinator of the youth wing of the NGO “Armenian community “ANI-Armenia”, welcoming the audience, said that it is literature and poetry that can evoke the best feelings in the youth of Eurasian countries!
