On November 15, a meeting of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly was held

On November 15, 2019, in St. Petersburg, in the House of Friendship of the Leningrad Region, an expanded meeting of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly was held.


The meeting was chaired by the First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Svetlana Smirnova. The meeting was attended by the Co-Chairman of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, the National Secretary of the Indian National Congress, the President of the Policy and Governance Foundation (India) Dalbir Singh, the Deputy Secretary Generals of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, the Chairman of the Commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation on Harmonization of Interethnic and Interreligious Relations Joseph Diskin, President International Association of Historians of Asia, Consul General of the International Rating Agency SHA-International Ratings Center in the CIS, SCO and BRICS Stanislav Korolev and other members of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly. Invited guests took part in the work of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly: Dmitry Pulyaevsky, Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region, Lira Burak, Chairman of the Committee on Local Self-Government, Interethnic and Interfaith Relations of the Leningrad Region, Vladimir Pavlovich Zhuravlev, Deputy Chairman of the Public Chamber of the Leningrad Region, as well as representatives of international public organizations, science, education, media and business. The General Council of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly listened to the report of the Head of the Representative Office of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in the Leningrad Region, Yuri Palamarchuk, on the activities of the Representative Office. As part of the discussion of the report, Dmitry Pulyaevsky, Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region, noted the importance of the work of the Assembly and expressed confidence that the fruitful cooperation between the Legislative Assembly of the Leningrad Region and the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in the field of interethnic relations will continue. Andrey Baturin, Chairman of the Council of Composers and Musical Figures of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, and Larisa Dokuchaeva, Chairman of the Council of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly on tribal culture, told the audience about the activities of their councils. The following projects were approved at the General Council with the status “with the support of the Assembly”: - projects of the Youth Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia “Discover Eurasia” and “Lessons of Friendship”; - "Symphony of Love" (Concert musical program of Oksana Fedorova and Dmitry Galikhin; ANO "Ura Production Center"); - Music and Poetry Festival in Verona (Association "Russian House" in Verona (Italy)); - the project of the Council on tribal culture of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly "WORLD - My History of the Family"; - "Media Creator - Eurasia" (Guild of Interethnic Journalism). In addition, it was decided that the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly will become the initiator and organizer of the project "Library of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly". At the meeting of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, other working issues of the organization were considered, and the work plan for 2020 was approved. The extended meeting of the General Council ended with the presentation of certificates to new members of the Assembly and the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly and the Non-Profit Organization "Association for International Public Development" (Bulgaria). The agreement was signed by the First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Svetlana Konstantinovna Smirnova and Chairman of the Board of the Non-Profit Organization "Association for International Public Development" Vadim Petrov Roshmanov. All participants of the extended meeting of the General Council of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly noted the saturation of the agenda, the working atmosphere, mutual understanding and solidarity of the members of the General Council in resolving issues.
