UNESCO Deputy Director-General Francesco Bandarin is impressed by the activities of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly during the year.

Svetlana Smirnova, First Deputy Secretary General - Head of the General Secretariat of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly, announced this following the meeting.

She recalled that a year ago, at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris, Mr. Bandarin showed great interest in the international project " Days of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly”, held in different countries, and was delighted with its scale.

“A year has passed since our last meeting in Paris, at the headquarters of UNESCO, as part of the Days of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly in France. Mister Bandarin was surprised by the scale of the Assembly. And today, having received the results of our activities for the year, I was no less impressed,” said Svetlana Smirnova.

The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly pays special attention to the prospects for interaction with global organizations, since the Assembly is at the stage of formation of associate membership in UNESCO.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum, within which on November 16, with the support of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, a panel discussion “Greater Eurasia”: international cultural communications and public diplomacy” will be held.
