Andrey Belyaninov met with the author of the project "Panfilov's men: our pride, our glory"

On July 2, in Almaty (Kazakhstan), a meeting was held between the Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly Andrey Belyaninov and a member of the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of Kazakh National University. al-Farabi Layla Akhmetova.

The main issue of the meeting was the implementation of the project “Panfilovites: Our Pride, Our Glory”, supported by the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly. The author and project manager is Laila Akhmetova. In particular, they discussed the creation of a website for the Panfilov Division and the International Association of Descendants and Friends of the 316th Rifle Division - the 8th Guards Rifle Division.

Professor Akhmetova spoke about her vision of the site, uniting the descendants and friends of the division. She explained that materials for the site are available: this is the first composition of the 316th Infantry Division and its reinforcements by months and years of the war. They are collected on the basis of work in the archives of Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, materials of the Memorial OBD, collection of documents and memoirs from descendants.

Thus, in the future, a new format for working in the Internet space on military formations will be created. There will be an opportunity to name each fighter and commander of the Great Patriotic War.

During the meeting, the topics of the general history of the twentieth century, transparency and the unification of points of contact in the joint discussion and preparation of monographs, books, textbooks, manuals on history, openness of archives were discussed all countries of the Eurasian continent.

Layla Akhmetova spoke about the fact that the Commission for Rehabilitation is working in Kazakhstan, showed her experience in working with information about prisoners of war and other categories of citizens who were repressed in the first third and in the middle of the twentieth century in Kazakhstan.

The issue of media education and work on joint projects on this topic, in which Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries participated.

Professor Akhmetova expressed her gratitude to Andrey Belyaninov for supporting her initiatives and meeting, which was fruitful and gave a new impetus to the work on the most important topics in the history of the twentieth century.
