On September 30, the II International Altaic Forum "The Turkic-Mongolian World of the Greater Altai: Historical and Cultural Heritage and Modernity" opened at Altai State University.

The Secretary General of the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly Andrei Belyaninov in his welcoming speech to the forum participants emphasized: “The significance of Altai, Altai culture as the center of several civilizations in the history of mankind, of course, must be given a worthy assessment. We still do not fully understand what Altai means for all mankind, for the history of our entire planet. So many peoples, so many cultures came out of the Altai and spread throughout the world that it is necessary to collect bit by bit knowledge about these processes. The forum has a very noble task, and I am sure that it will be successful.”

Recall that on April 22, the Eurasian Peoples' Assembly together with the Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation for CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots held a round table "Age of Eurasia: a conscious partnership of peoples" dedicated to the theme of the Altai civilization.
